Today is World AIDS Day. It falls on 1st December every year.

Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise - That's the slogan for this year World AIDS Day.

I believe most of us have not thought about HIV-AIDs related concerns because of the distance geographical and personal contact with those infected. World AIDS Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things still yet to be done.

Here is a video -Bono's message to raise the awareness of HIV/AIDS. Bono is the co-founder of RED- a foundation to raise fund and fight against AIDS in Africa. This Irish dude is my idol!Be it a great vocalist and for his humanitarian work..

The profits from Red will be channelled to funds to buy antiretroviral pills that will keep those infected by HIV alive. There is no cure for HIV/AIDs ,however the medicine can keep the HIV virus under control and immune system healthy.

MSN too, has launched (RED)WIRE -http://red.msn.com/ today. Artists like Coldplay, U2, Sheryl Crow, Jay-Z and Dixie Chicks have contributed their songs to raise funds for this cause.
